Harare International Conference Centre

The Harare International Convention Centre is a state of the art Convention Centre located in Harare, Zimbabwe and is certainly an option when considering convention centres in southern Africa.

On a visit to the venue in 2017, a select group of the Event Organisers Network had the unique opportunity of experiencing the Convention Centre and adjoining Hotel.

With an indoor floor space of 5000sqm and a  maximum conference capacity of 4500 delegates in the main auditorium, HICC ranks up there with some of the largest Convention centres in southern africa and the main facility is complemented by five recently refurbished conference rooms and one boardroom with capacities from 10 to 150 delegates.

The main 4500 auditorium has also recently been the recipient of an extensive make-over which involved re-upholstering and recarpeting the ground floor and the mezzanine foyer, ideal for cocktail parties and informal networking, has been upgraded to create a space perfect for those well-earned post conference sundowners.

State of the art includes a high speed wireless network throughout the complex, split air-conditioning and video conferencing infrastructure to cater for delegate participtaion from remote locations.

The 5000sqm floor space means that exhibitions are easily catered for and the complex can host up to 128 exhibition stands. 800 vehicles can be securely parked on the premises.

From experience, it is all well and good having state of the facilities, but lets be candid, events are made by people and we found the team at HICC to be extremely accommodating. There wasn't a question, situation or potential scenario too much trouble for the HICC team. They are willing to accommodate almost any request with enthusiasm and geniune friendliness.
