JEM ATKINS

After more than 9 years in the comedy and corporate entertainment industry, Jem Atkins has garnered a reputation as a highly talented Professional MC and corporate comedy Entertainer, and indeed one of the top comedy performers in Durban.

His performances are loaded with high-energy, intelligent observations, dotted with hilarious antics and impressions.

His sharp-witted humour makes for highly memorable audience interactions as he artfully skirts the line between funny and edgy whilst covering all range of topics, including marriage, divorce, love and dating, fatherhood, working in I.T., NASA, holidaying in India, South African movies, Eskom, Facebook and much more.

He has been nominated 3 times for a Savanna Comics’ Choice Award (‘Best Friend of Comedy’ – 2016, 2017, 2018) and has performed all over SA, with the biggest names in the industry.

He is currently touring his 3rd Solo Comedy Show (“Not Famous”) around the country and is planning his debut Australia tour for early 2020.

Atkins is also an accomplished actor, having starred in dozens of stage productions from the tender age of 13, and more recently in adverts for YouTube and TV.

Solo Comedy Shows

In 2012, he wrote, directed and performed his highly successful debut one-man show – ‘Single Dad’

In April, 2014, he followed up with the highly anticipated sequel - ‘Single Dad II’ – receiving excellent reviews!

In August, 2019, his latest solo offering – ‘Not Famous’- enjoyed a sold-out, 3-night run in Durban, receiving rave reviews. He has since toured the show around SA.
